L009 is more than just a router. This product line is up to 4 times faster than RB2011, has a modern ARM processor with container support, an innovative housing that allows the installation of up to four routers in one 1U space, more RAM, PoE and 2.5G SFP support. There are three main reasons to choose the L009: better performance, more features, and some interesting quality of life improvements.

L009 has an efficient dual-core ARM processor. It offers significant improvements in routing and filtering, complex firewall rules, IPsec hardware encryption, and various advanced RouterOS features. The ARM processor architecture provides significant advantages over older MIPS-based devices. Like taking advantage of all the latest Linux kernel features. Or implementing your own container projects. The combination of a modern ARM processor and a full-sized USB port is perfect for running custom container projects. For example, you can run Pi-hole ad blocker on this router. You can also use USB to add an LTE modem of your choice.

L009 is up to 4x faster than RB2011 in most cases and configurations, from simple fast track routing to complex bridge filters. L009 IPsec hardware encryption provides lower CPU usage with no measurable performance penalty compared to a regular driver. You can expect a throughput of around 6090 Mbps with a packet size of 1400 bytes.

All ports are now Gigabit Ethernet ports. The first port has a PoE input. You can use it instead of a DC socket to power your device. The last port has PoE-Out to power other devices. Another helpful addition is an SFP cage that supports both Gigabit and 2.5 Gigabit connectivity. We have tested various MikroTik SFP modules and cables that support higher speeds 2.5G capability makes the system administrator’s life much easier – there is a console port for quick configuration with direct access!
