Description:

SWITCH LANBERG ILGE-8P-2S-120 POE 4XBT 4XAT 2XSFP DIN UNMANAGMENT GIGABIT ETHERNET

Lightweight unmanaged industrial switch Lanberg ILGE-8P-2S-120

Industrial switches are an essential active device in any network structure – from automation and SCADA systems, through cable TV networks, to distributed IoT installations and surveillance. Lanbergs lightweight industrial switch series was designed for demanding working environments: a metal enclosure, passive cooling, and operating parameters that support stable operation across a wide ambient temperature range. The key advantages of this line include high PoE power (PoE+ / PoE++), redundant power input (you can connect 2 power sources), DIN-rail mounting, VLAN and EXTEND functions, automatic MDI/MDI-X, flow control, an intelligent PoE port cut-off function, and MAC auto-learning.

In practice, this is a network switch built for distributed infrastructure: industry, street lighting infrastructure, outdoor CCTV monitoring, alarm systems, and both indoor and outdoor deployments where Ethernet data transmission and PoE power for end devices (cameras, recorders, access points, controllers, sensors) matter – often with higher power requirements.

NOTE: The device power supply is included in the product set.

Industrial switch ILGE-8P-2S-120 with a rich selection of ports

  • 8 x Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 PoE ports (1 Gb/s) for end devices, including 4 x PoE++ BT ports (max 90 W) plus remaining PoE ports in 802.3af/802.3at standards.
  • 2 x SFP uplinks (1 Gb/s) – for building redundant or parallel fiber connections (e.g., to two cabinets, a ring topology, or two independent cable routes).

Lanberg Gigabit Ethernet switches with PoE++ technology
PoE, PoE+ and PoE++ technology makes it possible to deliver both data and power to devices using a single Ethernet cable, without additional electrical infrastructure at the camera or access point. IEEE 802.3af provides up to 15.4 W per port, IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) increases this to 30 W, and IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++ / 4PPoE Type 4) can deliver up to 90 W per port enabling power for 4K cameras with heaters, IR illuminators, or higher-draw automation equipment.

Depending on the model variant, the series offers a total PoE power budget of 90 W or 120 W, which simplifies planning of overall PoE power delivery while keeping safe reserves for stable 24/7 operation.

VLAN and EXTEND functions
VLAN is used as a practical way to separate traffic/ports (e.g., isolating cameras from each other while maintaining communication with an NVR/router via the uplink). It helps reduce broadcast “spill-over” and improves security in distributed installations.

EXTEND mode was introduced for deployments where you need to ensure operation over a longer run – at the cost of speed. In Extend mode you can reach up to 250 m on a single cable run, typically by limiting the port speed to around 10 Mb/s – ideal for surveillance where distance is more important than maximum throughput.

An unmanaged switch that knows how to disconnect devices
If a temporary power spike occurs (e.g., when IR illuminators/heaters start up) and the available PoE power budget is exceeded, the switch will disconnect ports in a controlled way: it cuts off the highest-numbered PoE port first, then the next ones until the system returns to a safe power limit. This lets you plan priorities in advance – the most critical devices stay online first.

Intelligent switches with SFP module support

Lanbergs lightweight industrial switches support different fiber types thanks to SFP slots. Optical transmission parameters (range, fiber type, wavelength) depend on the selected module, giving you flexibility when choosing an uplink to a cabinet, pole, or another node. The device also supports automatic MDI/MDI-X, so crossover cables are not required, and the Ethernet port automatically negotiates speed and transmission mode.

Unmanaged PoE switch with redundant power input
Redundant power input means a dual power feed to the switch (two independent power paths). If one source fails, the device automatically switches to the other – without user intervention and without interrupting operation of critical PoE ports. Its a simple but highly effective way to increase network stability in industrial and outdoor environments.

Easy installation in 19″ racks and on a DIN rail
This is a Plug & Play unmanaged switch – connect power and cables, and the device configures the link parameters automatically. MDI/MDI-X auto-detection recognizes the cable type, eliminating the need for crossover wiring. In IP surveillance systems, reliable packet forwarding is crucial – store-and-forward switching with CRC checking helps reduce propagation of corrupted frames.

A major advantage is DIN-rail mounting, making it easy to install the device in automation cabinets, and when needed – also in rack environments (e.g., on a shelf or using integration accessories such as rack mounting ears). This provides flexibility for installation both inside and outside RACK cabinets.

Metal enclosure for durability and wide operating temperature range
The sturdy metal housing enhances mechanical durability, while passive cooling ensures reliability in continuous operation. The recommended operating ambient temperature ranges from -25 to 65 °C, with humidity between 10% and 90%. Although the enclosure itself is not water- or dust-tight, when installed in a suitable box or cabinet, the switch will perform well in demanding environments: industrial halls, manufacturing facilities, monitoring centers, and street cabinets. An additional safeguard is 6 kV surge protection, which is essential for outdoor installations.
