This compact, lightweight fixed focal length lens (24mm) combines a wide angle of view with a bright aperture for creative shooting even in low light. Optical Image Stabiliser (5 stops)1 allows for longer exposure times when shooting handheld and provides smoother video. Stabilisation effectiveness can be increased (6.5 stops) when using the EOS R-series camera with built-in Image Stabiliser (IBIS). The minimum focus distance of 14cm (0.5x magnification, or half life size) is a real advantage for creative wide-angle work. You can get very close to your subject and still include its surroundings in the frame. An adjustable control ring and separate focus ring allow you to fine-tune focus, set ISO and aperture, or change the AF method.
