The ring-shaped flash unit makes it possible to uniformly illuminate small objects – perfect for capturing wildlife, such as flowers and insects, and for special scientific applications. E-TTL II measurement makes it easy to accurately determine the exposure of the flash.
Creative control over shadows
The two flash tubes can be independently adjusted (6-way power ratio adjustment), allowing for different lighting styles. Equal power of both tubes eliminates the shadows, and the greater power of one of the tubs to emphasize the texture of the object. The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II can be rotated around the lens so that the light from the dominant source can fall at any angle.
High performance
High power (guide number 14 (ISO 100, m)) allows the use of small aperture apertures to maximize depth of field for short-distance shooting. Color temperature information is transmitted to the camera during shooting to help optimize the auto white balance.
Integration with other flash units
The Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX II flash can be used as a wireless optical head unit in a configuration that includes several flash units. It can trigger Speedlite flashes acting as slave units. This is useful, for example, when using a second flash for background lighting.
